Spectrin is the idm/electronica project from Steve Gaffney, a producer from Wimbledon, South London.

Spectrin blends influences from the glacial dub tones of Monolake and Basic Channel, to the mental beats of Bogdan Razinsky and Rephlex, into complex and playful washes of drums and drones. His process is instrument oriented - recordings are single-take performances, only using computers to mix final tracks down.

Great record. wears it's influences proudly ..but retains a sliver of identity that is uniquely British and has a northern feel to it..I think that these geographic musical vignettes are realy evocotive of northern Newtown Uber estates and satellite communities..I hope this translates to a wider audience for him...he deserves the attention. give him his due .NOW . christopherogley
