The run up to the release of Jerusalem was pretty quick. I had the idea of pulling the track forward from Tim's upcoming M3ON LP at the end of November. Five remixes were commissioned, recorded and mastered in two weeks.
It was always the intention to keep a mix back as a Subscription Library bonus track and as Salvatore did something different to everyone else, this seemed like the perfect candidate. Big thanks to Salvatore for the wonderful mix which he enthusiastically started before he even had the stems.
For those outside of the UK (including Salvatore, who worked on the track with no knowledge of any of this), Blake's Jerusalem is often viewed as the alternative national anthem - or the patriotic song it's OK to like. i.e. it's not "God Save The King". It has a strange position in the culture, as it's sung by posh rugby lads at private schools but is also viewed by some as a socialist anthem which unites the left. Blake continues to be subtly influential and is loved and referenced by many artists. Me and Jules had Jerusalem as one of the hymns at our wedding. Which was ever so slightly radical at the time. Her Mum definitely wasn't keen.
The full release is available here:

I hope it manages to insert itself into your Christmas 2022 soundtrack.
Thanks,
Colin.
