Gee There's a track on this comp called Travelogue - that just about sums it up! It's an amazingly diverse, and yet coherent, trip through contemporary electronica. Well, mostly contemporary - I also love the track Limits by Tom Violence, apparently recorded in Sheffield in 1990! Favorite track: Slouch and Born.

Participation: Volume One is the first part of a two album set featuring music recorded entirely by subscribers to the Castles in Space Subscription Library. The second volume will be issued as a double vinyl album as soon as it's been manufactured.

I think the best way to approach this first volume might be just to go in clean without any further notes from me. The range and diversity on show is quite something to behold. It's a really, really brilliant and varied set of tracks. Some real left turns and surprises, but full of energy. I love it.

I've tried my best to source all the images that were sent in, but if yours is missing, please just resend and I'll get it uploaded immediately. Same with the credits, I've taken time to double check everything, but there will inevitably be a error or two. If you spot anything you want changing, just let me know. There were quite few last minute changes of titles and artist names going on...

It would be great to hear what you're enjoying from these 30 tracks, so please keep in touch and let us know how you get on.

Great record. wears it's influences proudly ..but retains a sliver of identity that is uniquely British and has a northern feel to it..I think that these geographic musical vignettes are realy evocotive of northern Newtown Uber estates and satellite communities..I hope this translates to a wider audience for him...he deserves the attention. give him his due .NOW . christopherogley
