Monochrome Echo’s latest album draws inspiration from the Arthur C Clarke novel The City and the Stars. The story begins in the domed city of Diaspar, supposedly the last safe haven of mankind on a dying Earth. It chronicles one man’s journey to break out of the Diaspar and discover the truth about the real fate of humanity and what lies beyond the desert.

Using his hybrid setup of hardware and software instruments, this brand new collection of tracks from Monochrome Echo explores some of the concepts and events in this science fiction classic.

Monochrome Echo is Simon Little, an electronic musician and bassist from London; a session musician best known for his work with The Divine Comedy.

The City And The Stars is his ninth full-length album, and his debut on Castles in Space.

Great record. wears it's influences proudly ..but retains a sliver of identity that is uniquely British and has a northern feel to it..I think that these geographic musical vignettes are realy evocotive of northern Newtown Uber estates and satellite communities..I hope this translates to a wider audience for him...he deserves the attention. give him his due .NOW . christopherogley

This is very close to what I heard/felt everytime we visited the grandparents in Runcorn. Ominous dread. Bleak dystopia. Concrete and terraced houses. Plus the air smells! MonkeyMajiks
